Isn't it crazy how something so little can bring forward a whirlpool of memories. Something you were taking in at one time and may not have even realized it? Well that just happened to me.
I am sitting here avoiding thinking about all the school work I should be doing and browsing through Facebook. One of my friends recently took a quiz determining which One Tree Hill character they were most like. I LOVE One Tree Hill and used to watch it ALL the time, so I decided to take the quiz.
Before taking the quiz there is a link they ask you to press to set the mood. So, I click the link and the theme song to One Tree Hill, I Don't Wanna Be by Gavin DeGraw begins to play. Now, I know I used to be obsessed with One Tree Hill and watch it all the time, but I couldn't quite place my finger on the time period. However, when I heard this song it all came rushing back to me. When I was pregnant and not doing too much extracurricular activities other than going back and fourth to school, I went on a Netflix binge. I started One Tree Hill from season one and watched almost everyday until I had my son.
I remember rubbing my belly and talking to Isaiah while watching this show. Falling in love with characters on the show, finding that I could relate to these characters and their problems and making promises to my unborn child. I know it sounds crazy, but all the memories that came rushing back to me when I heard this song really hit me because they were all memories of me being pregnant. Not all of them had to do with the show. I thought about the situation I was in, the house I lived in, the people I was surrounded by, and the people that supported me.
My pregnancy was not the easiest thing I have ever been through. It was unexpected and many people were disappointed in me. I am really thankful for the people that stuck by me and kept my spirits up! But at the end of really long days One Tree Hill was my escape. I got lost in the character's lives and problems. I spent time laughing and crying with my unborn son. When he was born and things got easier (but more hectic), I stopped watching One Tree Hill.
Anyway, hearing that song just made me think about a lot of things, and mostly about that intense bond I felt when Isaiah was still in my belly. I catch myself missing that bond sometimes. Don't get me wrong I am so glad he's here! Just sometimes I miss just having him so close and talking to him. I find it really hard to explain, but I hear a lot of mothers express feeling this way. Now my son is approaching two and I find myself lucky if I can get him to sit still and let me hold and talk to him for 15 minutes!
That's all I have for tonight. I'll probably go watch One Tree Hill on Netflix now! HA!
Goodnight y'all.

Back From Vacation
So, I just returned from a much needed vacation with my family! We went to St. Simons Island and we were there for 5 days, but the time just seemed to fly by! I wish I was still vacationing, but sadly life goes on and I'm back to the real world now- back to work and school.
The best part of my vacation for me was watching Isaiah on the beach! He surprises me every day. I thought he would be timid and nervous to get in the ocean, but all I had to say was "Isaiah let's go play in the water!" & he responded, "Okay!" and ran right in! I have so many pictures of him running in the sand and splashing in the water, I could honestly stay out on the beach with him ALL day long!
He amazes me daily. How he carries himself, how intelligent he is, just about every single thing about him! I thank God daily (and multiple times throughout each day) for blessing me with such a wonderful son! I just can't wait to see what's in store for his future.
Now I'm going to finish some homework I should have worked on while I had this break! I'll be posting pictures soon, just wanted to post something since I have been away from my blog for so long!

Reflecting
I was so happy about not working this Sunday because I got to go to church with my son! we haven't been since mid December, but me losing my job (long story) has been a blessing in disguise because I get to attend church again on Sunday, and wherever I am relocated, I will inform them that I do not want to irk Sundays.
Anyway, it was an amazing feeling to be back with my church family. My pastor, Pastor Baker, sermon was on point (as usual)! & I realized how much I need to be in church on Sundays.
Well after I got home from church and put my son down for a nap the sermon was still in my head. He preached about something one of my best friends has been blogging about this past month, people bondage. I love this topic because I feel like we all fall victim to people bondage. So, I pulled out my study bible and dug deeper into the passages that he preached on (Genesis 1:26-31).
And long behold, my study bible just reinforced the things my pastor was saying, and things that I need hear.
Genesis 1:31 "Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good"
This verse especially has stuck out with me today. Sometimes, I have those days where I think to myself thoughts like "if only I didn't have this flaw" or "if I could only do this" BUT when God made me he thought "I was very good" ! God makes no mistakes. He made me exactly how he wanted me, and I have a purpose!
Oh how good is God! My worth is not based off of my achievements, my possessions, my physical attractiveness, etc. Criticizing myself is downgrading what God has made!!
I am God's creation, and he is SO pleased with how he made me
-for he looked at me and thought I was VERY good.
He looked at us all and thought that we were very good. We have purpose and our maker is pleased with us! Why in the world would we be so caught up with people pleasing and people bondage when our God is already pleased with us?! All he asks of us is to act in a way that reflects him- reflects his love, patience, forgiveness, kindness, and faithfulness!!
This is why I cannot work Sunday's y'all! I needed this!
Anyway, I just felt like I had to share this message that I received today. Hope someone reads this and realizes just how GOOD they are!
Goodnight.

Crazy Week !
Y'all I can't believe that its been almost a whole week since I've last posted ! I'm so disappointed in myself! I really thought that I would be able too keep up with this blog challenge, but I have not & I'm sorry! It saddens me to tell you that I will not be continuing my blog challenge.. I might use it for ideas on what to blog on, and to help me with my blogging, but I have FAILED the blog challenge, BIG TIME!
Let me give y'all an overview of my hectic week: I'm dealing with a lot with my job, and had a job interview, and I have spent countless hours in the computer labs at my school getting school work finished. I'm proud to tell y'all the dedication is SO real this semester. With the course load I am taking after one assignment is done, there always seems to be another one due close by for another class! I cannot afford to slip up on any of my classes this semester - it can push by graduation back by another semester, and its time for me to get my diploma!
Anyway, I've been so busy and too lazy, tired, or a combination of the two to continue with my blog challenge. Fear not though, I will continue to blog, but for now it will be more infrequent. Hopefully, I'll catch my wave and get better at this whole blogging thing! Thanks for bearing with me through this journey!

Superbowl Sunday
Sitting here watching the SuperBowl, don't really care about the game this year, but the father of my child and my child seem to be enjoying themselves watching, so I'll sit here and blog away.
Blog Challenge Day 12: A normal day in my life:
Well, this is a tough one because it really depends what day it is, but I'll give a general overview. I wake up, if its a day I don't have to be at work or at school too early, I make Isaiah breakfast and give him a bath; if I have to leave early for school or work, I get up as quietly as I can and get ready to leave. Before leaving the house every morning I kiss my son, and thank my Heavenly Father for my son, my family, my health, and my wonderful life. Then, I leave to wherever I'm headed. Usually, whether it is school or work, I don't get home until about 7pm or after. Finally at home, I play with Isaiah, do any cleaning or work that needs to be done, shower, and go to sleep.
If it's a day that I don't have school or errands, the only difference is my day is filled with more mommy duties, errand runs, and one or two naps! Hahaa
But that's what a normal day in the life of me is like.
Happy Superbowl Sunday fellow bloggers and readers!
Catching Up..
